The American motoring public once again fears the three dollar mark in the price of gasoline. This fear is made even more believable when the price of gasoline in California reaches the three dollar mark. But in response to this, the American Automobile Association (or the AAA) announced that the more than per gallon price of gasoline in the West Coast is unlikely to spread all over the country.

According to the not-for-profit automobile lobby group, the average price of gasoline in the country is at .545 per gallon although the average in California is much higher for gasoline now is traded at .121 per gallon. The AAA stated that the reason for the high price of gasoline in the West Coast is due to the fact that the region has a limited number of oil refineries. Other reasons that AAA cited are the strict air quality standards in the region and the relative isolation of the West Coast from fuel supplies in the country.

While the AAA said that the price of gasoline outside of the West Coast will not reach the three dollar mark, the organization warned that the price of gasoline will continue to increase in the next few months. AAA believes that apart from the West Coast, the country will experience a gradual increase in the price of gasoline as the demand for fuel increases in the season. They also believe that the price of gasoline will peak well below the dreaded three dollar mark.

For those motorists who are thinking that the price of gasoline in the country will once again reach per gallon in the spring, AAA cited the reasons for the three dollar mark in the past two years. The AAA stated that in the years 2005 and 2006, two events played a major role in the increased gas price. In 2005, AAA cited the Hurricane Katrina which has inflicted damage on the energy infrastructure in the country.

The ravaging hurricane made oil refineries supply less fuel to the market which make the price sky rocket. In 2006, Israel's invasion of Lebanon played a key role in the price of gas in the U.S. The result of the invasion is a threat to the oil shipments going out of the Middle East.

AAA cited that the reasons present in the past couple of years for the sharp increase in the price of gasoline is not present this year. Although it is expected that the price of gasoline will increase due to the increase in the demand for gasoline, AAA believes that there is no reason to believer that the three dollar mark will once again be thrust into the public this year.

Propane gas is stored in a portable tank and once you run out of propane, you can easily buy another tank nearly everywhere.

Propane can be easily stored inside a tank because when it is compressed at a certain temperature (about -46 degrees Fahrenheit), it condenses into liquid. It stays in its liquid form until it is uncompressed. This makes propane easier to store as compared to the natural gas, which cannot be compressed into liquid.

Natural gas grill

A natural grill contains, yeah you guessed it right, natural gas. Natural type of gas, considered as fossil fuel, is made up primarily of methane. Natural type of gas, while considered an innovation, has always been used domestically. It is supplied to homes for purposes of cooking in natural gas ranges and ovens, central heating of houses and even for clothes dryers. Then, the domestic use also included fueling natural gas grills.

The main difference is that natural gas used for grills is not usually stored in tanks unlike propane. While it may be compressed (compressed natural gas or CNG) and liquefied (liquefied natural gas or LNG), usually it is used through its natural uncompressed, unliquefied form.

Availability

As mentioned before, propane is almost always used in its compressed and liquefied form. The compressed propane, also called liquefied petroleum gas or LPG, is now stored inside the propane tank. This makes it easier to be distributed and can be directly delivered by companies. On the other hand, natural gas which is not usually stored and is not usually compressed, may be harder to distribute. Also, natural type of gas may not be always available in some rural areas.

Energy

In terms of BTU or British thermal units, propane gas contains more energy, more than twice of what gas in natural form contains. One cubic foot of propane contains more than 2,500 BTU while one cubic foot of natural gas contains a little over 1,000 BTU.

To further understand, let's consider this example. If a gas grill uses 100,000 BTU per hour, how many cubic feet of natural gas and propane will be used? For natural form of gas which contains 1,000 BTU, around 100 cubic feet should be used in one hour. On the other hand, only around 40 cubic feet of propane will be used in an hour since it contains 2,500 BTU.

Safety

There are many ways to look at the safety of natural form of gas and propane. Some people insist that natural form of gas is the safer choice because since natural gas is lighter, it only floats up into the air and then dissipates while propane, which is heavier, sinks to the ground.

However, natural type of gas is considered a greenhouse gas when it is discharged into the environment. It means once natural type of gas is released into the atmosphere, it may pose some risks and may harm the environment. Propane is not labeled as a greenhouse gas which means it is not as toxic or as damaging as other gases.

Then again, both fuels propane and natural gas are considered safe and clean, and that their emissions are actually insignificant factors in polluting the environment. Both are safe, yes, but if not handled properly, these friendly gases may also be extremely dangerous.

The KJ works M9 is the exact replica of the Beretta M9, which is the standard issue sidearm in the US military today.

When handled, the M9 feels very real. The fact that it's made absolutely of aluminum (and of course, some steel parts) brings the weight of the weapon very close to that of the real M9. The author rented the M9 (actually, the civilian version, which is called M92F) at a shooting range. While the real firearm is made of steel, and not aluminum as the airsoft gun, and the tolerances are much tighter, there are basically no major differences between the two.

The KJ Works M9 is a gas blowback airsoft gun. What that entails is that when the gun is fired, the slide on top of the weapon goes backwards. This mimics the behavior of the real gun. That gun can be cocked by pulling back on the slide, or by moving the hammer. It can also be fired just by pulling the trigger. There is no full automatic mode on this airsoft gun. The safety switch is functional, and it has two modes: safety on and safety off. A word of warning about the safety switch: unless it's moved entirely to the safe possession the weapon will likely fire when the trigger is pulled. In this airsoft enthusiast's opinion, this is a major safety hazard and should be mended in later models.

The magazine holds 25 six millimeter BBs.

The gas to operate the gun is stored in the magazine. In order to supply the magazine with gas, it is best to remove it from the gun. The valve is found in the bottom of the magazine. The gun is designed for the green gas. Using the red gas will likely result in damage.

The M9 is shipped with an orange tip as all other airsoft guns. However, the paint used easily rubs off.

The disassembly of this airsoft gun is also very close to the real thing. Pull the slide back and move the lever on the left-hand side up to prevent it from going back to its initial position. Next, push down on the button located on the right-hand side of the gun towards the middle. Now you are ready to flip down the small lever located on the left hand side of the gun - again - towards the middle. The only thing left to do is to pull the slide back further another quarter of an inch, and in the slide will now entirely come off when pulled towards the front of the airsoft gun. To attach the slide to the gun again, just slide it back on and pull it all the way back.

Overall, this is truly a great airsoft gun. The author has been using it for a year and a half without any troubles whatsoever. The only thing to complain about is the unpredictable nature of the safety switch. The all-metal construction and the blowback functionality puts this airsoft gun ahead of its competition.
